Why it exists
A blocked line can be cleared in an hour. What nobody knows afterwards is why it blocked, which means nobody knows when it will happen again. A camera turns that guess into a specific fault at a specific distance.
What it finds
Roots at a joint, common in older clay lines around Denton and Sherman. A belly, where the pipe has sagged and holds standing water. Scale and channelling in cast iron, which is what happens to that material over decades. A crack, an offset or a full collapse. Each of those is a different job.
When it is worth it
Any line that has blocked twice. Any house you are about to buy that was built before the eighties. Any repeat problem that a previous plumber cleared without explanation. On a first-time block in a newer house, usually not.
What it saves
It decides whether you need a spot repair on one section or a full replacement, and those are very different numbers. Quoting a sewer repair without looking is guessing, and the guess is rarely in your favor.
The honest version
Sometimes the camera shows a line in good shape and the problem was what went down it. That is a fine outcome and we will tell you so.
