Leak Detection.

Finding it before anybody cuts a hole in anything. Across Krugerville and 75 towns in North Texas, done by the licensed master plumber who quoted it.

What leak detection actually involves

Finding the leak is most of the work and it is where the money is saved. Water travels, so the stain on your ceiling is rarely under the failure. We locate first, with meters and acoustics rather than a saw, so that when something is finally opened it is opened in the right place once.

On a slab leak there are two honest routes: tunnel under the slab and repair the line from below, or open the floor. Tunneling keeps your flooring and your finishes intact. On one job the tunnel ran eighteen feet and after backfill the customer said the yard looked the way it had before we started.

Whatever the answer turns out to be on your property, you will hear it from the licensed master plumber who is going to do the work, before the work starts. That is the difference between A+ and a company that sends a salesperson first.

A+ Plumbing covers leak detection from Krugerville out through Denton, Collin, Grayson, Cooke, Dallas, Tarrant, Wise and Rockwall counties, which is roughly a forty mile radius and seventy-five towns. Whether the property is a house in Aubrey, a restaurant in Frisco or an apartment complex in Denton, the same licensed plumber quotes it and the same one does it.

If you are not sure whether what you are seeing needs leak detection at all, that is worth a call on its own. Norman would rather tell you on the phone that you do not need him yet than sell you a visit you did not have to pay for.

Water heaters rarely fail without warning, they fail without anyone noticing the warning. Rumbling, slow recovery, rusty first draw and weeping at the base all arrive before the flood does.

Ask whatever you want on the phone. The person answering knows the answer because he does the work.

What we check

Manifold and shutoff layout on a re-route
Restoration, because backfill and finish are part of the job
Where the water actually is, located before anything is opened
Whether tunneling under the slab beats opening the floor on cost and disruption
Slab type, since post-tension cable changes what can be cut
Moisture readings to confirm the source

Worth a phone call when

Unexplained moisture at the base of a wall
A water bill that jumped with no change in use
Damp carpet or lifting flooring with no visible source
A warm patch on a slab floor
The sound of running water with everything off

Why the ground here matters

Hard freezes

The region freezes hard enough, often enough, to split hose bibbs, exposed garage lines and anything in an unheated attic. February is the month this phone rings the most.

Slab-on-grade

Nearly everything built here since the sixties sits on a post-tension or conventional slab, so supply lines run under concrete rather than through a basement. That is why leak location is a real skill in this market and why tunneling exists as an option at all.

How a job actually runs

01

You call

You reach Norman on (940) 231-5706. Describe what is happening and you get a straight answer about whether it is urgent.

02

We look at it

Diagnosis first. On a leak that means locating it properly before anybody opens a wall, a floor or the yard.

03

You get the number

What the work costs and what it does not include, before it starts. No surprises added at the end.

04

Then it gets done

The licensed plumber who quoted it is the one doing it. Permits pulled where the city requires them.

05

We clean up

Tools out, mess gone, yard put back. Tools out, mess gone, yard back the way it was.

06

You have our number

If something is not right, you call the same man who did the work.

Leak Detection questions

Are you licensed and can I check?

Texas Master Plumber license M-44741, held by Norman Alambar. You can look it up with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and we would rather you did.

What areas do you cover?

Krugerville and about forty miles out: Denton, Collin, Grayson, Cooke, Dallas, Tarrant, Wise and Rockwall counties, seventy-five towns in total. If you are near the edge of that, call and ask.

Do I get the same person each time?

Yes. That is the point of a small shop. Norman Alambar has seen your property before, so the second call does not start from nothing.

How much does leak detection cost?

It depends on what we find, and anybody who gives you a firm number before looking is guessing. What you will get from A+ is the number before the work starts, not after. Call (940) 231-5706 and describe what is happening and you will get a straight answer about the likely range.

Who actually does the work?

Norman Alambar, the licensed Texas master plumber behind A+, license M-44741. On larger jobs he brings a second pair of hands. You are not handed to a rotating technician who has never seen your property.

How fast can you get out?

Often same day, and emergency work runs nights and weekends. One customer called at five thirty on a Saturday and we were on site inside the hour.

What people say afterwards

We live in a 75 year old house. I crushed an old rusty galvanized pipe and water went everywhere. This was on a Saturday at 5:30 pm. Norman came to our house within an hour and had the job finished within the hour. Great personality and happy to help.
