Why he started his own shop
Norman worked for the big outfits. He watched people he knew get sold work they did not need, and decided he could not keep doing it. In March 2023 he started A+ on one rule: do the job that is required, charge a fair price for it, and nothing else.
What the job that is required means
If a water heater needs a thermocouple, it needs a thermocouple, not replacing. Plenty of customers have had a plumber out who told them otherwise, which is usually why they call A+ the second time.
Who actually comes to the house
Norman, with a second pair of hands on the bigger jobs. Not a call center and a different face every visit.

Why it stays this size
What people remember afterwards is rarely the plumbing. It is that they spoke to the owner, that he showed up when he said, and that he cleaned up. All three of those get harder the moment a company adds a layer between the phone and the van.
A second opinion on a plumbing quote is a reasonable thing to want, and it is a normal reason people ring this number. Nobody is offended by it.

08Why the ground here matters
Slab-on-grade
Nearly everything built here since the sixties sits on a post-tension or conventional slab, so supply lines run under concrete rather than through a basement. That is why leak location is a real skill in this market and why tunneling exists as an option at all.
Hard freezes
The region freezes hard enough, often enough, to split hose bibbs, exposed garage lines and anything in an unheated attic. February is the month this phone rings the most.
